Close to Parliament House stands the National Monument - a great bronze sculpture, is one of the largest freestanding sculptures in the world. Designed by Felix de Weldon, the famous sculptor. This monument sits on a tranquil spot, surrounded by a pool of water fountains and water lilies made of pewter.
The 15.54m high bronze monument was constructed in 1966 to honor the country's fallen heroes during the Communist in urgency. Memorialize men of the armed forces in their strength, unity, bravery and sacrifice for the country.
